My guess is that it got cut last-minute, but somehow the boxes had already gone to press. Here's the million dollar question.does anyone have a copy of the Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah with "I'm Blue for You" on it? I saw a tape with the same label as mine on eBay and it was listed on the back of the box as being one of the songs. I also went to look for boxes for mine and found some of the first-run VHS tapes (which I know mine were since I got them in 1987-can also tell by the older FBI warning screens and the blue stripe on the tape labels). Are you experiencing any of the following audio-related behaviors No audio Audio distorted Audio/video out of. What I didn't realize is that there were some on LaserDisc!! the public can sing along at the same time as the characters on screen. Apparently some were on DVD, but things were changed around on some (like the Christmas tape). Over several months in 2002, many classics from Disney were distributed on video. It looks like the last ones came out somewhere around 2004 alongside Home on the Range.

I know there were tons of others, including one at Disneyland that had "Makin' Memories" (a lost Sherman Bros song if I remember correctly) on it plus a good rendition of "Grim Grimmin Ghosts". I know I played the daylights out of these in the late 80s when they were new. Somehow, I no longer have the box to the Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah and Heigh-Ho tapes, just the tapes (which are inside generic Scotch and Maxell boxes now). It also prompted me to do some research on the series. I actually had that VHS before I saw Fantasia, so I was admittedly confused about Fantasia at first!!Ī few days ago, I mentioned these to someone who brought up Disney karaoke and said these were basically training videos (hence why I dug mine out to make sure they were still there).
I always enjoyed the editing on some of these, like how "Joy to the World" and "Silent Night" were basically dubbed over Fantasia scenes. I have a few of the tapes on-hand here: the original Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah and Heigh-Ho volumes plus Very Merry Christmas Songs (still goes well as an album today even if you don't watch it). While the former thread seems to be winding down as direct-to-video sequels and non-princesses get tapped to fulfill an apparent 1-new-volume-a-year quota, the other. Perhaps the most iconic of Springfield’s educators, the “steamed hams” cooker himself Principal Seymour Skinner ( Harry Shearer) reigns over Springfield Elementary with a tight grip and iron fist that serves as the perfect foil for Bart and a great hyper-exaggeration of the kind of self-serious educator most of us have grown up knowing.This was a great series. Nonetheless, the Sing Along Songs format continues to live on in two ways: through the Disney Princess franchise and through untimely DVD debuts of old videocassette volumes. Muscle-toned Scotsman Groundskeeper Willie ( Dan Castellaneta) has perhaps the greatest passion for his work out of anybody on the campus, scrubbing the toilets and mowing the lawns with an unhinged love for the job.
Miss Hoover ( Maggie Roswell) callously waits out the clock with an above-it-all demeanor and lesson plan that are not receptive to the bookworm-ish eagerness of her top student, Lisa Simpson ( Yeardley Smith). Krabappel ( Marcia Wallace), one of the chief authority figures in Bart’s life, tries to administer schoolroom justice with a snide cackle and a sharp tongue fitting for the 10-year-old rebel, while also matching him on his level of attitude. For a school that’s nestled in the heart of dysfunctional suburbia Springfield, USA that is also the stomping grounds of proud-of-it underachiever and troublemaker Bart Simpson ( Nancy Cartwright), Springfield Elementary has an entire faculty of delightfully cynical administrators and teachers that fittingly satirize the ebbs and flows of a typical public-school day.
